Credential detail

A CTE authorization in the instruction content area is required. An initial CTE authorization can be issued for 3 years to applicants who meet the educational and occupational requirements for the particular CTE credential sought. Specific coursework to be completed within the 3 years is assigned at the time of issuance and must be completed in order to advance to a professional, 5-year authorization. A typical day

  1. Observe and evaluate students' performance, behavior, social development, and physical health.
  2. Instruct and monitor students in the use and care of equipment and materials to prevent injury and damage.
  3. Maintain accurate and complete student records as required by law, district policy, and administrative regulations.
  4. Plan and conduct activities for a balanced program of instruction, demonstration, and work time that provides students with opportunities to observe, question, and investigate.
  5. Prepare, administer, and grade tests and assignments to evaluate students' progress.
  6. Prepare students for later grades by encouraging them to explore learning opportunities and to persevere with challenging tasks.
