Life Sciences Faculty

Teach life sciences courses within a higher education environment. Includes teachers primarily engaged in teaching and those with a combination of teaching and research. Career and Technical Education (CTE) faculty are also responsible for meeting postsecondary CTE program assurance requirements. Depending on the institution type, faculty may be classified as adjuncts, lecturers, professors, researchers, or tenure-track professors.   1. Keep abreast of developments in the field by reading current literature, talking with colleagues, and participating in professional conferences.
  2. Supervise undergraduate or graduate teaching, internship, and research work.
  3. Supervise laboratory sessions and field work and coordinate laboratory operations.
  4. Prepare and deliver lectures to undergraduate or graduate students on topics such as crop production, plant genetics, and soil chemistry.
  5. Collaborate with colleagues to address teaching and research issues.
